☆ 弱り目に祟り目

VirtualBoxを入れていたlennyをセットアップしていたPCが起動しなくなったので、 別PCでシステムを再建。
今度は冒険を避けてetchにする。起動時にUSBキーボードを認識しなかった こと以外、特別なトラブルもなし。

VirtualBoxのインストールは、以前(太陽に飲み込まれる前?)より、 ずっと面倒になっている。
sources.list のエントリはForbiddenになっており、 インストールガイドも見当たらない(UserManual.pdfはあるけれど)。
ダウンロードサイトからOSEのソースもしくはバイナリを 落とすだけだ(URLが長すぎてwgetできない)。
当然、カーネルモジュールのビルドと依存関係の解決はご自分で。

もう終わったのかなぁ。

FreeBSDホストでも試したいが、なぜか起動しない...orz。

☆ lennyとともに踏んだり蹴ったり

etchをlennyにあげる。あげたら正常起動しなくなった。
apt-get するいずれかのタイミングで /etc/fstabで記述されている ファイルシステムを/dev/hd*から/dev/sd*に書き換えた ようだけど、/boot/grub/menu.confの方は依然として/dev/hd*のまま だったからだ。
カーネルは新しくなったけど、vboxdrv.koを含んだモジュールまでは 自動では新しくなってくれなかった。
カーネルとモジュールのバージョンを揃えて、さてVirtualBoxに進むと、 今度は既存のディスクイメージが読めない。エラーメッセージから判断するに 後方互換性がないようなのだ。
...移行方法は、また考えるとするか。

ちなみに起動しなくなったPCのディスクは生きており、こちらで 起動させることはできた。やれやれ。
